Our Lift Master does this sometimes, but other times it works fine. Given that, is it still likely that a bad circuit board is the problem?

@@garagedoorgenius Thanks for your response! I think it's like two clicks in rapid succession (in less than 1 second), like "tah-tuh". The second click sounds slightly different than the first. When it gets stuck open, we pull the manual release so that the door drops a foot or so. Then we re-engage the release and press the button again, after which it usually closes on its own. When it gets stuck closed, we grab the bottom of the door and lift it up a few feet, and then the opener usually kicks in and it finishes opening on its own. We have found that it almost always gets stuck open after opening, unless we press the button to stop it from closing all the way just before it reaches the top.

Hang on I’m a little confused. I saw somebody else relieve the tension in those springs before they loosened up that drum, so I don’t even have to release attention in those springs?

The first problem is that you’re working on a junk LiftMaster. Worst garage door openers on the market.
@@kernsy6715 lol, not a fan I take it? What's your issue with them? Just curious.
I run into nothing but headaches with them. Rpm sensor design is stupid, 2 separate circuit boards that if one goes bad liftmaster wants you to change both. Now they changed there policy not to help on anything on the logic 3 because they say it’s outdated. Programming timers is ridiculous. All the commercial sites I got to hate them as well, to loud, they hate the delayed reaction. Overhead door operators is where it’s at, RSX models for commercial is the best on the market and user friendly with lcd display screen.
@kernsy6715 fair enough. Everything you just mentioned is a problem with LM. I've had pretty decent luck with the commercial line. There for awhile residential not so much. It was 50/50. Control Modules, boards,... I had an account with the W Hotel downtown Austin. They had RSX machines. I thought they were pretty cool. Especially with the display screen.
OHD tech support is awesome as well. They will help you and figure out issues on operators from first line to the newest line of operators.

I wish you were close to me I have a low clearance garage that’s open I never ask anyone if they could install one I always wanted a door for security sake we had a incident across the street 4 am a guy lifting up on the door handles and I have a lot of lawn equipment I don’t want to get stolen cats peeing on my car covers destroying 3 covers this gives me hope and I will feel more secure

I have a garage door thats is just foam with a hard plastic frame and thin aluminum skin. Will this work on that?? Great video.
@@marnas7809 you have to have something to mount the lock to. So if the aluminum piece runs solid (vertically) down the panel, then you should be in good shape. It'll be a bit more difficult because of the insulation fyi.

0:54 you don't need to press both buttons a the same time. You can just press whatever button you want to use on you rear mirror(orange light pops up) and then press and hold the button from the remote until the light on the mirror flashes green. Then you do the learn step on the garage.

1 of our cable got loose today, we have to disconnect both cable from the drum. Door was uneven, bottom and top roller came off too. I’m glad i found this video. We will definitely try this steps tomorrow

B When the display begins to flash,press the desired button on the remote for one second,then release the button for one second.Continue pressing and releasing the same button until decimal point begins to flash. • Additional transmitters (up to 7) can be programmed by following the same procedure. C To operate the remote control. • Press the remote button once. - The door will move. • Press the same button again. - The door will stop. • Press the same button again. - The door will move in the opposite direction. The door will stop automatically at the fully open or fully closed position.

What should I do if the limits get stuck before are in the expected limit, just get a sound and door back to the other limit without allowme to configure them, this start happening every time I got a power issue
